Icy patches are always a bit of a harzard for the OAP's ! '* #

X-Ray straight after the "little slip" the red circled area is the break. The arrows show where the shoulder bone should be. It was a complicated break. Granny hat to under go over 2 hours of surgery. The results can be seen in the photo on the right.

4 screws and one big plate was inserted into grannies arm. The "string" is to stop the top plate from slipping down. Plastic mesh hat to be wrapped around the bone because bones that old do get a little brittle. The plate and screws have to stay in the arm for a whole year !
